Terms & Conditions

The following Terms and Conditions apply to all orders placed with South Trader Online Shop pages. By placing an order on the South Trader website, you are accepting these Terms and Conditions. Please note that we may make changes to these Terms and Conditions from time to time, so please check them each time you use the online shop.


To purchase goods from South Trader Online shop, you need to register / login and then complete the online ordering process. Your order is an offer to buy the goods on these terms and conditions of sale. We will send you an email confirming receipt of your order and your order details. Our email is our acceptance of your offer to buy the goods. Payment options available to process your payment include direct EFT or PayFast, who will process your payment on our behalf.

The supply of goods from the online shop is subject to availability. Whilst we will endeavor not to display any goods which are not currently in stock we may find from time to time that this is not possible. If it happens that you place an order for goods which are currently unavailable at the time of placing your order, you will be informed by email and you will be refunded for any unfulfilled items.

South Trader undertakes to test all electronic boards prior when order and the goods will be deemed to be in working order at the time of dispatch.


You may only order goods through the online shop if you are 18 or over. If you are under 18 years old, please ask your parent or guardian to complete the ordering process.


Prices of all goods available on the online shop are quoted and charged in Rands (ZAR) and are inclusive of VAT at the current rate of 14%.

Forms of Payment

We accept payment via PayFast or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). Payment via EFT may take 2-3 days to clear in the South Trader bank account.

Delivery / Shipping

We regret that we are currently unable to deliver outside of South Africa. Please note that we cannot deliver to PO Boxes.

Parcels will be dispatched through couriers and charges are dependent on the order weight and your area/post code as determined by our couriers. Certain areas, as determined by the couriers at the time of delivery, will incur a surcharge. Where possible South Trader will endeavor to inform you of this surcharge and provide you the opportunity to nominate an alternate delivery address in order to avoid this additional cost. All courier deliveries will require a signature upon receipt.

All delivery charges include packaging.

Goods will only be dispatched when payment is cleared in the South Trader bank account..

Refunds Policy

Cancelling your Order prior to Delivery

If you wish to cancel before delivery, please email us immediately at shop@southtrader.co.za with your name, address and order number, heading your letter “Order Cancellation”. Whilst we will try to cancel the order before it is dispatched, we may be unable to do so. If the goods are delivered you will still need to cancel your order in writing and return the goods as set out below (under Non-Defective Returns). The client is responsible for the costs of returning the goods and this cannot be refunded.

We will refund the purchase price to you within 30 days of your cancellation notice (including the delivery charges).

Faulty Goods

Faulty Goods are goods deemed to be defective, damaged on delivery or if the product supplied is not the same product as what was ordered.

If any goods ordered from us are not the same as what was ordered or found to be damaged on arrival (DOA), please notify us in writing within 48 hours of acceptance of delivery and return as soon as possible.

If the goods are found to be faulty and unable to perform as expected, please notify us soon as reasonably possible and return the goods within a 6 months period.

All returns to be sent to the ‘Returns Address’ on the delivery note. Please ensure the goods are securely packaged.

Please note that faults resulting from normal wear and tear or where you or someone not authorised by South trader, has altered or damaged the product, these goods are not considered to be “Faulty Goods”.  Damage to products can include physical damage through negligence, tampering, lightening and virus infection, or marked items, including packaging or the lack thereof.

Products deemed to be DOA or experience miscellaneous failure e.g. Components or peripherals, where there is insufficient reason for an immediate swap, these goods will be sent for further investigation.

If we concur with your findings that the goods are faulty and it is not as a result of negligence or inappropriate handling of the goods, and you have returned them within a reasonable period, we will either refund, replace or repair the goods at South Trader’s expense. The cost of returning the goods to South Trader will be for the purchaser.

IMPORTANT: you should refuse to accept delivery of any product which is visibly damaged, and if you only discover the damage after the courier has left (eg a cracked board), then you must report it to South Trader as soon as possible and within 48 hours. If only reported after 48 hours, it is reasonable for South Trader to determine that the damage was caused post delivery.

Please follow the Returns Policy as this will be the ONLY manner in which returns will be accepted.

Replacement Goods

Should you not be satisfied with any product purchased by you, by reason of a defect, incorrect choice of product, or otherwise, you may, under certain circumstances, be entitled to either be refunded or have the product repaired or replaced, as the case may be.

Please follow the Returns Policy as this will be the ONLY manner in which returns will be accepted.

Non-Defective Returns

You are entitled to return any non-defective goods purchased via this online shop within 7 days after your receipt of the goods and to obtain a full purchase price refund. The cost of returning the goods will be for the purchaser.

Note that although you are entitled to ‘cool off’ and cancel your purchase as aforesaid, you must return the product in the condition and original packaging as you received it. The product may not have been used. 

Returns must occur by following the returns procedure set out in the Returns Policy below.

Returns Policy

Please notify us in writing within 7 days of delivery of the Goods if you wish to request to return goods.

Please note that we are unable to cancel any orders and accept returns after the 7 working day period unless the goods are faulty (see ‘Faulty Goods’ above).

If notification of intention to return goods is made timeously and you undertake not to utilise the Goods, you will receive a full refund of the purchase price within 30 days of the date of cancelling this agreement. In such a case, your agreement of purchase will be deemed to have been cancelled, and you will be liable in terms of section 44(2) of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (as amended from time to time) for the direct costs of returning the Goods, such as courier and/or shipping charges.

Please note that your right to cancel your order for goods without penalty set out in this clause shall not apply where goods are made to your specifications.

To cancel your purchase and claim a refund, write to us at the Returns Address on the delivery note, within 7 working days from delivery, heading your letter “Order Cancellation”. Provide your name and contact details, your order number and a description of the goods being cancelled. A ‘working day’ is any day which is not a weekend or a public holiday. Notice may only be given in writing and addressed to the Return Address, also detailed on the delivery note.

Your goods must be returned in the original packaging and a copy of the original invoice included in the package. We recommend you use registered post or courier to ensure the goods reach us safely.

If the product was ordered on the basis of a “Special Offer” or “Sale” and such product is no longer being offered at the special price, should you elect to have the product repaired or replaced (as opposed to being refunded), South Trader  will only be able to repair, not replace same.

Returns Address

Please use the Returns Address included in the delivery note.

Processing of Refunds

Should you be entitled to a refund for any reason, such refund shall be paid into your bank account, being your bank account as reflected on SouthTrader’s records. SouthTrader will not, in any instance, pay funds into a third party bank account.

As refunds need to be processed by the banks, please note that the processing of refunds can take up to 5 working days from approval date.


South Trader shall not be liable if we are unable to carry out our obligations (including any delays) due to any circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

South Trader shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses, or for any business losses (including loss of profits, data, anticipated savings, goodwill or for wasted expenditure) you may suffer as a result of any breach of these terms and conditions of sale.

We do not limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
